Jimmy Potucek is a Major in the United States Marine Corps Reserve, a C-130 pilot and instructor, a commercial airline pilot for American Airlines, and a former NCAA Division I baseball player. Throughout his military and aviation careers, he has developed leaders, instructed complex operations, and led high-performing teams in demanding environments.
As Founder and President, Jimmy provides the organization's strategic vision and oversees player development, coaching operations, community partnerships, and long-term organizational growth. His coaching philosophy centers on excellence, discipline, accountability, teamwork, and servant leadership.
Bradley Rudy is a West Point graduate, former Army Ranger, and lifelong multi-sport athlete who spent 20 years building and leading training programs for thousands of Soldiers.
At Southern Prospects, Bradley trains players at every practice and supports the founder across operations, recruiting, and practice planning. Bradley leads the data collection and analysis program, using tools like Mustard, WinReality, and Blast Motion to sharpen mechanical feedback for hitters and pitchers alike. That focus on details, paired with a disciplined approach to efficiency, reflects one of the defining traits at Southern Prospects: a relentless desire to unlock the potential in every player.
Courtney Rudy is a former U.S. Army Major who served 13 years on active duty in leadership and management positions. She currently serves as a Program Manager with Navy Federal Credit Union and holds advanced degrees in Business and Project Management.
Courtney provides leadership in administration, communications, volunteer coordination, fundraising support, scheduling, and organizational management — helping ensure Southern Prospects operates with the accountability and professionalism expected of a high-performing nonprofit.
Southern Prospects is supported by additional volunteer coaches who provide instruction, mentorship, and positive role models for the athletes.
Jeremy Adkins is a Manufacturing Engineer for a heavy industrial company in Pensacola. He has played baseball from youth leagues through high school, and currently plays in a competitive softball league. He recently attended Braves Spring Training Camp with coaches Mike Remlinger and Julio Franco.
Tom Mentzer is a retired Navy pilot with 21 years of service and 36 years of coaching experience at all levels through high school, most recently 3 years as a Volunteer Coach with Pace High School Freshman and JV baseball. He played 4 seasons in the Pensacola Men's Baseball League, primarily as a pitcher/catcher and middle infielder.
Bobby Reynolds is a Navy F/A-18F Weapon Systems Officer transitioning to pilot. He played two seasons at San Diego Mesa College and two seasons at Clarke University, and served one year as a Freshman coach at Point Loma High School.
Billy Wheeler is a retired law enforcement detective with 14 years of service in the state of Florida, currently serving as a supervisor of Global Security Investigations for a large corporation. He played baseball through high school as a middle infielder and outfielder, and has coached baseball and softball for 14 years at various levels, including as an assistant Freshman softball coach at a local high school.
